This year we are expecting more participation than ever! In addition to the enormous number of attendees from municipalities across the State of Maine, we have a great number of students attending from construction and trades programs attending this year. These are our future municipal leaders and MCAPWA is actively engaging this generation! Attendance at this event allows you to reaffirm the relationships you have had for years, strengthen the bond with decision-makers who have just started to buy from you, and make a positive impression on those who will define the future of municipal infrastructure management.
We will be holding the annual statewide Snowplow Road-eo competition and introducing a statewide equipment competition this year. The winners of each competition will be sent to compete with their counterparts from across the nation in Colorado and Chicago. If you can slip away from your booth, these competitions can be fun to watch!
We have held our prices for another year. $450 is our rate but we offer a $50 discount if you hold an equipment demonstration that attendees can participate in or if you are holding a contest with prizes. We also offer an early-bird discount if you get your payment to me by May 6th. That potentially brings the registration cost down to $350 – to get in front of 1,000 people who help decide how to spend their municipal funding.
Whether you will be able to attend, or not, we would like you to consider a sponsorship of the Maine Chapter of the American Public Works Association. Funds raised through our programs are used to support scholarships, educational sessions, and to send state contest winners to national competitions. If you aren’t ready for a formal sponsorship but would like to directly sponsor the winner of the Snowplow Road-eo or Equipment Competition to attend their national competitions – we’d like to talk about what that would look like, too. We are open to any discussion of how sponsors can support the American Public Works Association’s mission of education and support of public works!
