This course is intended for persons responsible for the planning and set-up of traffic control zones and/or the directing of traffic through short-term construction and maintenance work sites on Maine local roads.

What will be covered? This workshop combines videos, group discussion, "hands-on" problem solving, and lecture to explain:
- The latest 2023 minimum standards of the MUTCD
- Your town's legal liability relative to tort claims and national, state, and local standards
- Proper use of cones, orange signs, barricades, flaggers, etc.
- The parts of a typical work zone and how to deal with common problems, potholes, grading roads, replacing culverts, etc.
