This course is intended for persons responsible for the planning and set-up of traffic control zones and/or the directing of traffic through short-term construction and maintenance work sites on Maine local roads. Topics covered include:
- How to stay compliant with Bureau of Labor Standards
- The latest 2023 minimum standards of the MUTCD
- Your Town’s legal liability relative to Tort Claims and national, state, and local standards
- Proper uses of cones, orange signs, barricades, flaggers, etc.
- The parts of a typical work zone and how to deal with common problems like potholes, grading roads, replacing culverts, etc.
